hi
in my instruction, "It must allow the user to search the data
for all records, or for records where the name and/or
location fields exactly match values specified by the user. "
what is the "exacltly match valuses" meaning?
my findByCriteria() in DBAccess is "Fred" matches "Fred" or
"Freddy", so my search is "B" matches all begin with "B" such
as "BB" or "BBB".....
but if the "exaclty match valuses" is meaning "B" just matchs
"B", not "BB" or "BBB"?
and if name and location should search independently. In my
seaching, the name and location is same as others
informations of subcontrator during the searching. should i
have the independent searching just useing the keys name and
location.
my english is poor, please help me. thank you

Hi ZhiYuan
Have you seen this thread? It also discusses this issue.
My reading of the instructions is that the findByCriteria() method will return more data than the GUI will want to display, so you are going to have to do some work in the GUI to remove the records that are not an exact match. Alternatively you could create a business method on the server that will do exact matches in addition to the required prefix match search.

hi Andrew , thank you
i will have two kinds searching, one uses exaclty matching by name and/or location, the other uses all keys of record to search, which is "B" matchs "B" or "BB"..
another doubt :
my instructions says that :
Packaging of Submissions
All elements of your submission must be packaged in a single JAR file. The JAR file must have the following layout and contents in its root:
//......
A directory called docs, containing the following items at the top level:
*This html file. //what is the html file???

*A subdirectory called javadoc, containing HTML/Javadoc documentation for all classes and interfaces you are submitting.
//...............

Hi ZhiYuan
*This html file. //what is the html file???

The instructions file you are reading that instruction in. It is html format.
I imagine that Sun may check that the instructions file you include is the same one that they gave you, then pass the entire package to an examiner. The examiner can then check that you have met your instructions.
