This week's book giveaway is in the OO, Patterns, UML and Refactoring forum. We're giving away four copies of Refactoring for Software Design Smells: Managing Technical Debt and have Girish Suryanarayana, Ganesh Samarthyam & Tushar Sharma on-line! See this thread for details.
I would like to congratulate Andrew Monkhouse for his recent promotion to Bartender, and moderator for the SCJD forum. As many of you already know, Andrew has been a tremendous help to everyone in this forum and always responds with very detailed information. So his promotion is well deserved. Max and Andrew will always provide you with great help and encouragement. I am very happy to leave you guys in their great hands. Good Luck everyone, and I won't be a stanger, just a Servlet and Oracle Bartender now. I serve CLOB and BLOB drinks as well as ServletContext cocktails. Have fun and Keep it Simple. Mark Spritzler
Thanks Jim and Max, Using my newfound powers, I am going to close this thread. If anyone would like to wish good luck to Mark in his new forum, or welcome the other bartenders (including Bert Bates ) or make any comments, please go to this thread in the JavaRanch forum. Regards, Andrew [Geez, the nerve of some people. Give him a little taste of power and he's shutting down all his fellow bartenders. I see we're going to have to watch this guy carefully. - Jim] [ August 18, 2003: Message edited by: Jim Yingst ]

I have been reminded that some people may wish to say goodbye to Mark in this forum Well I figured we weren't really getting rid of Mark anyway. But just to be safe: thanks for everything, Mark! You rule.
My heart-felt thanks to Mark Spritzler, without whom I won't have got past the vagaries of RMI. Also thanks for talking me out of a run-away design. Gone to greener pastures, but never forgotten ! Looking to Max and Andrew to get me past the goal-post. regards [ August 23, 2003: Message edited by: HS Thomas ]
I’ve looked at a lot of different solutions, and in my humble opinion Aspose is the way to go. Here’s the link: http://aspose.com
