Wrong about write data into Bodgitt and Scarper's db file.

The write code is :

    db.writeByte(LIVE_RECORD);
    for (int i = 1; i < description.length; i++) {
      if (newData[i] == null)
        newData[i]="";
      db.writeBytes(newData[i]);
      for(int j=0 ; j< fieldLength[i - 1]-newData[i].length();j++)
        db.writeBytes(" ");
    }

I found some "0"(type byte) was write into my db file between the records i write.It's length is as long as what i write.I can copy the result to this forum.I did'nt know what happens.Any one can tell me? thanks!

Hi Wills,
Welcome to JavaRanch.
I have edited your post to put the code between [code] and [/code] UBB tags. Doing this ensures that indenting is preserved, which makes the code easier to read.
When you are writing your post, there are a number of buttons just below the edit pane, which will insert the tags for you, so you don't have to remember what they are.
If you would like to edit your original post so that you can see what I have done, you can click on the button that is just above your post.
I could suggest some improvements to your code, (and suggest a different method call to use), but I think we should leave that until after you get your current code working.
Perhaps you could post an example of what is appearing in your file.
