OK - nearly finished my Data class, which creates, deletes, locks records, etc, etc.

Can somebody who has finished tell me what approx. portion of the assignment this represents? I kind of figure I am about one third of the way through, have yet to do GUI (another third) and networking/server (final third).

Is that about right? Just psyching myself up re how far I have to go!!

Hi Laura,

Take a look at the marking that Sun provides:

General Considerations (100 points)
Object-orietned design (30 points)
Documentation (70 points)

User Interface (40 points)
Locking (80 points)
Data class (40 points)
Server (40 points)

(Note: I changed the order, and introduced a blank line)

You are working on General Considerations, Object-Oriented design, and Documentation all through your assignment (you are, aren't you ), so I have separated them from the more tangible sections.

Now if you have Data and Locking working, the Sun thinks you have completed 3/5 of the project (120 / 200 points).

Of course it is not quite so cut and dried as that - but at least you get some feeling for where you are.

Regards, Andrew
