I am using the spring layout and use for that the SpringUtillities class from the sun's tutorial. Its a small helper class. Is this allowed ??

I do not know the answer for ur Q, but hope to get an answer from the others.
Initially, I thought of using SpringUtilities.makeCompactGrid() in my code with the SUN's code copyright comments at the top. The
manager laid out the search widgets correctly for my GUI.
But I couldn't fully understand the code inside this SUN's method, so I have now changed my UI design to use
instead.I didn't want to submit any code that I didn't understand.

Do you have the line "
you must not submit any code that is not your own work
" in your instructions?
If so, then you cannot provide one of Sun's classes.
