Hi,ranchers.
After a long waiting,I receive my result today, how discouraging it is!
I failed and the reason is following:
Automatic failure. Your submission archive file as we received it was corrupt. Please submit again. You will not be charged for this. If you have any questions, send email to who2contact@central.sun.com.
I know I could resubmit free, but there is little probability that my submission archive file was corrupt. My archive was tested before submited, and I tested my archive in my computer just now,It runs fine too.
Then,my corrupt file is due to the network transmission, but I remembered that after submitting, sun's web tells me that the submission is successfully.
Is there any probability of sun's mistake?
What I should do,resubmit or write to sun?
Resubmit the file will take me long time to wait for the result again.
Any opinion is appreciated!

Hi,

I've read previously about a corrupt upload from Mac OS X using Safari browser.

What is your operating system and browser?

Do you have a slow modem connection? Or a fast home or work connection?

How many kilobytes in size was your .jar file?

Thanks,
Javini Javono

P.S.
In general, I have no doubt that your .jar file on your home computer is not
corrupt. The jar utility is quite accurate, and I'm quite able to transfer .jar
files from Windows 2000 JRE 5 and Mac OS X JRE version 4. So, this suggests
the problem is (1) a fluke, or (2) you are not using an operating system/browser
that is compatible with Sun's limited capabilities.

Hi,javini.Thanks your reply first.
My OS is windows 2000 SP4,the browser is IE6 and JRE is 1.4.
My connection is fast and the size of the file is 286KB.
Are these compatible?

Hi Janvy,

Sometimes these things will happen, and there is nothing you can do about it except retry uploading. Sun/Prometric are already acknowledging that this is not your fault, and are offering you the chance to upload again. If they thought that something was your fault then they would be charging you for the resubmission.

I cannot see any value in you writing to Sun. What do you expect them to do? They have a file that they cannot read - they are not likely to suddenly gain the ability to read it just because of an email .

So, short answer: Resubmit your Jar file.

That is unfair Javini - like most IT companies offering certification, Sun have outsourced the examinations to Prometric. And Prometric are free to use any server side software they like regardless of who their clients are. This is not a fault of Sun.
