I am unable to take the Java 2 Developer exam as planned, and am willing to sell my 2 vouchers for half price; one for the assignment project, and the other for the written exam. Both vouchers expire Dec 31, 2004. I registered for the exams in the US. Please send me an email if you are interested.

Hi, Im in UK and totally new to SCJD.

I would be interested in the coupons if they are transferable. And if this is legally fine.

Will I need to buy something more?

Regards,
Leena

Hi,

Norm if your intentions are honest perhaps you could check with Sun that you can resell exam vouchers.

It seems a bit dodgy to me.

1. I've never heard of SCJD vouchers that expire.
2. Remember US vouchers are for use in the US only.
3. When you purchase a voucher you have to give your Sun student ID. This proves who you are and that you have passed SCJP. I doubt this is transferable?

It would be mean if you sold these and they were useless and meaner still if the end result of someone elses hard work was attached to the student ID of the original buyer.

IIRC, most Prometric vouchers expire at a given date. You usually have to register for an exam by a given date or the voucher's no longer any good. (This doesn't mean take the test by then - they usually let you register up to a year in advance...)

I think Steven's point 3 is the clincher. I can't see them being transferable.

I've always heard that vouchers are transferrable but called Sun to get their official answer. I found out that the SCJD assignment voucher is NOT transferable, so I cannot sell it. However, they told me I could sell the voucher for the written exam. The expiration date will remain the same. I have not registered for the test. If someone purchases it, they will need to give their testing ID when they register.

The other thing I found out is that the SCJD assignment never expires until the SCJD certification is retired.

I don't anticipate that I will have time to do the SCJD before the end of the year, so I am still willing to sell voucher for the written exam. It cost $150, but I will sell it for $75. It is only good in the US.
