I m doing B & S. Is it necessary that locking has to be bypassed in the stand alone mode? Thanxs.

It isn't necessary to bypass, as you say it.

However, on another note, I would NOT lock records in stand-alone mode. a One to one relationship between the client and database means that there aren't any deadlocking possibilities, so the overhead, although minor, for record-locking is just that overhead that isn't needed.
