Is it necessary to test the application in solaris environment before submission? Thanxs!

Its not necessary, but it is advisable. I test on W2K and Solaris, I suspect Windows and Linux test systems would be sufficient as they would have most of the same system differences. Be sure to document the systems used for development and testing.
 
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
