What could be proved by SCJD?

one day, my good friend ask me : "why did you take SCJD?", I know he is serious. But I don't know how to answer him, even I passed the SCJD.

Compared to SCJP, what is new benifit for SCJD ? What could be proved by SCJD?

If I may put my opinion in, I think what SCJD proves - to oneself and to others - is that the programmer who takes it has learned how to deliver a complete software product of passable quality. It proves the programmer knows many concepts related to software development passably.

To use a comparison, I feel like in the study for the SCJP I learned how to use a hammer, and a bunch of other tools. With the SCJD, I learned how to build a desk using those tools.
Of course I could have build a table without paying for the SCJD. But the SCJD forced me to learn to build a proper desk of a quality that it can be sold and used by others. And once I have passed it, I can be confident than I can build something myself, that my employer or customers can trust me with such a task.
And it was a lot of fun to do.
