This week's book giveaway is in the OCAJP 8 forum. We're giving away four copies of OCA Java SE 8 Programmer I Study Guide and have Edward Finegan & Robert Liguori on-line! See this thread for details.
I have the suncertify.properties file to persist the configurations between runs of the program. (required)
I'm thinking about adding another properties files for the logging configurations, and for the GUI captions, with their locations being hard-coded in the source.
I have two questions here: 1. Is it allowed to do these configurations without a GUI interface? 2. If yes, then is it allowed to use properties files other than the suncertify.properties? or we have to use it for all configurations?
Note this from the instructions:
All configuration must be done via a GUI, and must be persistent between runs of the program. Such configuration information must be stored in a file called suncertify.properties which must be located in the current working directory.
Thanks in advance.

Can't any body help ? Is there any body passed the assignment with properties files other than the suncertify.properties?
My approach to logging configuration was to set default values in code. I also supplied a logging.properties file with the assignment and told the tester about it's existence and purpose (administration and testing) in choices.txt. The tester was instructed to copy it to the working directory if he/she wanted to use it. My code then looks for its existence and uses it if it's there, otherwise logging only WARNING and SEVERE messages. I felt that using logging made it easy for the tester and helped me get a good score (389/400).
