[B&S]: Booking a record

Hello there. First time SCJD forum poster.

I'm working on B&S 2.2.3 and wanted to get some clarification on what booking a record means in light of this particular assignment.

Now, I know Andrew Monkhouse and George Marinkovich gave some great advice for the previous version (2.2.2) in this thread, so I just want to make this really clear.

The assignment only regards booking in very few sections. One is somewhat mentioned in the Schema section for the owner field:

The id value (an 8 digit number) of the customer who has booked this. Note that for this application, you should assume that customers and CSRs know their customer ids. The system you are writing does not interact with these numbers, rather it simply records them. If this field is all blanks, the record is available for sale.

In addition, the GUI requirements state (as the parent of the original thread stated):

It must allow the user to book a selected record, updating the database file accordingly.

A reason I am confused on this matter is because of another field in the database schema, the number of workers in the contractor company, which is described as:

The number of workers available when this record is booked

So either it's:

A) Only one customer (via a CSR) can book a contractor at a time.
B) Customers can book a number of workers from the contractor, decreasing the available amount of workers.

Right now, with the first two quotes and the original posting in mind, I'm leaning toward A and assuming this is the correct viewpoint. Am I correct?

Thank you

I think you can safely assume option A. Choosing option B would mean splitting up the database record into multiple records and merging records when bookings are cancelled, which would be a complex-ish, task (requiring transaction support in the database layer) not found in the other assignments.
