Hi all, I'd like to dive into the midst of SCJD preparation... Where does one start? What literature would you recommend? Thanks to all in advance....

Hello! Welcome to javaRanch. I am working on my scjd assignment now on! I think the best way to prepare the SCJD EXAM is: (1)Download you assignment now on! (2)Read your assignment instruction carefully. (3)Make you plan to finish the assignment. (4)If you have any question about your assignment, you can search all topics in the forum. Many dabs will give you suggestions! Join us! Just do it!

Get the famous book: Sun Certified Java Developer Exam with J2SE 1.4. You could get all info you needed from this book. Nick

Hi, Alex!! Some things to add. When I started thinking about the project, the book by Max Habibi was the one that I bought. I read it the first time and then read parts of it as needed. I highly recommend it because I probably would not have passed without it. Also, I highly recommend asking questions from Andrew Monkhouse, who is the forum bartender. Between Max's book and Andrew's replies you are all set. I think this is the recipe which has worked for many people. Mostly, you are likely to ask questions about how to interpret requirements of the assignment, and on locking.
