Hello everybody I am done with my assignment and doing the last minute checks. I am running java version "1.4.2_04" (build 1.4.2_04-b04, mixed mode) on my machine. Will someone please tell me if this version "have been superseded by a new production version for more than 18 months"? I also don't know if 'b04' means "build 04" or "beta 04" or something else. Honestly this versioning restriction stuff is the only thing in the assignment that I couldn't undrestand and also the only thing that I couldn't figure out by following & reading the old threads in this forum. Other than this, this forum has been a great help for me. A milion thanx to people in this forum for their questions and answers and particularly to Andrew, philip and those who were and are involved. Thanx for the help

Hi Shahrdad, Short answer - you are fine with that version. Tiger has not been out long enough yet. There is a little more information on allowable versions of the JDK in the JavaRanch SCJD FAQ (however it is getting dated). Regards, Andrew
