This week's book giveaway is in the OO, Patterns, UML and Refactoring forum. We're giving away four copies of Refactoring for Software Design Smells: Managing Technical Debt and have Girish Suryanarayana, Ganesh Samarthyam & Tushar Sharma on-line! See this thread for details.
hi guys! I have download my assignment(Version 2.2.2 . what different with 2.3.2?) but I am confused now! there is a file of ".db" form,is it the database that sun called? and how am i use to that? and must i not use the JDBC?
You cannot use JDBC. There should be a "must not" clause in your instructions somewhere regarding JDBC. It wouldn't work anyway, as the .db file is a flat data file instead of a true database file that you must write the data access code for. Your instructions will outline the data file schema, and you can work from there.

The instructions you received should include a section title "Data file Format". This tells you the layout of the records in the provided data file.
You need to create a class (or classes) that can read this file. You should have been provided with an interface (in the "Server" section of your instructions) that will tell you what methods you must write to access the data file.
