Hi all ! I am software engineer working in Java UI for set top boxes.I am SCJP and now want to get some other Java certifications. For which certification should i go which can help me in my career. As far as my work is concerned i am working on Core Java and not in Advanced Java like EJB etc. So, should i go for SCJD , and how should i prepare for that. Thanks

hello, SCJD seems to be the right thing for you. To prepare for it i recommend "Thinking in Java", "Effective Java" and "Design Patterns" (Gamma). Besides I recommend to finish a few other >90 kB source code projects (maybe you have done that already). Conan

Can someone tell me the details like : 1) What is the assignment and essay exam is all about. 2) Will they give you the assignment and essay on the spot or will get some time to finish that. Please do reply as i have to start preparing for that today. Thanks in Advance

Hi Tony, you might want to have a look on the Developer Certification FAQ. You can find the answers to your questions in there. Wei-ju
