When was Java 1.5 released?

I read that you have to submit the SCJD at least within 18 months after the release of a new Java version. This is now relevant to those like me who are working on a 1.4 assignment: when approximately (or precisely) was 1.5 (5.0) released?

Is it true that there is no other time limit to the assignment, after downloading? Can anyone confirm who spent more than a year, and passed?

The Tiger has been released on September 30, 2004, but since then there have been three official updates, mainly security updates and bugfixes.

You can find the official release dates listed at the Sun J2SE Codenames page.
