Hello All,

When the application starts up I had been bringing up a dialog with the following information:

Local or Remote - Either radiobutton selected.
Database Name
Database Dir
Server DNS
Server Port

Now thinking about it more the Local/Remote choice doesn;t make a whole lot of sense cause the mode I run in is determined by the flag I pass when starting up.

So now I'm thinking show same dialog (minus radiobuttons)but just enable as follows:

Alone - DBName and Dir enabled
Server - DBName and Dir and Server Port enabled
None - Server DNS and Port enabled

Am I missing something ?

Plus I've seen mention of people providing buttons for start/stop of RMI server. I hadn't even thought of doing this.
Is it necessary ?

Thanks a lot,
Conor

Looks good to me

I don't think it is necessary to explictly start/stop the RMI registry - once you have the parameters listed above you should be in a position to start. You would (presumably) have some way to stop the server application as a whole though.

Regards, Andrew
