Hello, All.
Does the Fly By Night Services assignment really requires to identify the client id? My work in the project has been based on the Haibi's book which is based in the FBNS assignment.

Since I still have the chance to work in this old assignment (I was a couple of years working on a job project outside my contry so I had to quit the certification meanwhile), I don't want to re-do all the progess I made, working in the new assignments where the locking with client id is a must.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Azbel,

Welcome to JavaRanch and this forum.

You should have the instruction "If an attempt is made to unlock a record that has not been locked by this connection, then no action is be taken." To me, this implies that you must have some way of identifying which lock was granted to a particular client - and this implies that you are going to need some way of identifying the client.

Regards, Andrew
