Please help me with this,

I bought a voucher (a long time ago) to take the essay exam for SCJD. My voucher will expire within two weeks and I am not ready for subiting my solution. I wonder if someone is ready to take the exam before march31,2006 so we can exchange the vouchers

Best Regards

You could use the voucher and get an appointment for the exam. Then defer (change appointment) to a later date. Not sure how many times you can defer or for how long. But I'm sure you can easily push it out several months.

Is this possible? I thought exam must be registered and taken at a Prometric center prior to the expiration date printed on the voucher.

Quote from Purchasing Exam Vouchers section:

How can I have my exam voucher extended past the expiration date?
Voucher expiration dates cannot be extended. You must register and take your exam prior to the date printed on this voucher. Neither Prometric, Authorized Prometric Testing Centers, nor Sun Microsystems are responsible for vouchers that are not redeemed by the expiration date. Candidates that chose not to register and take their exam within the one year time frame will not be given an extension.

Hi Joyce,

Check with your local Prometric office. The requirements that appear on most web pages are the corporate official global policy. However it appears that there are minor variations with each country (and sometimes within the country). Most of them do require you to book your initial exam such that the scheduled exam date is prior to the voucher expiration. However once the initial exam is booked, many of them allow it to be rescheduled - sometimes up to a year later.

It has been awhile since anyone in this forum has posted their results in doing this - if you try it, please do let us know how you go.

Regards, Andrew

Thanks for the clarification, Andrew.

I didn't know this was possible and prepared the SCDJWS in a rush! I thought that the testing center staff would check the expiration date on the voucher.
