Hi,
I have 1+ experience in Java related technology. This is my first post in SCJD forum. I have Completed SCJP and SCWCD. I am planning to do SCJD. I have few queries regarding SCJD.

1. Swing, Socket-Programming are Alien to me. I haven't worked on threading. So based on this can anybody tell me how long will it take to complete the assignment if i work 20 hours per week?

2. I heard someone saying that Sun reimburses the money if we pass the exam. Is this true? Or is it Sun will allow to retake the exam if we fail?

3. Should i buy any book for this exam? Or the Online resources are enough?

1) a few months if you're a fast learner
2) not unless you work for Sun in which case you can likely declare it against some internal education program
3) yes. Books about networking, multithreading, and user interface design, and probably books about object oriented software design as well.

Thanks Jeroen. I am from India. Can anybody tell me how to get the assignment. Do we need to buy the voucher or pay online to sun?

There is no difference between India and the rest of the world (except for the bank account where your payment ends up maybe).
