How to start SCJD part 1

I'm wondering how to begin SCJD certification, bet i have no idea where to start.

For example where i can get assignment. I tried to login to certmanager, but there was no info. Can i find example assignment and example application?

About part 2.

What kind of test is essay test? Where could i find example of essay type exam?

Did you try "Reading materials" and "FAQ"?

example assigment: Denny's DVD is one I know, that is close to real assignment, check the SCJD book by Andrew Morton. Source code are free to download from apress website.
