Hi

I don't want to use JDialogbox and JOptionPane(which used in Andrew's book).

I want set Database path useing JInternalFrame( or anyother frame) in JMenuBar. But I have problem that I can't display only JInternalFrame( or frame). Its dis appeared quikly and JMenuBar is appearing.

Can anyone give me for this solution.

Hi,

sorry, I didn't really understand what you want.

Do you want to display a text field in the menu bar?
Or do you want to show a separate window and use something different than JDialog?

However, I would suggest you to take a look at sun's swing tutorial and download the swing demo application.
And, in particular if you are new to swing, you should follow their
design recommendations and don't invent something different.

Yes I want to open seperate window which is modal means JMenuBar is inactive until you can't colose this window.

if you want to open a modal window - which means that the parent window is completely inactive until you close the modal one - than you should create a JDialog and set the property modal to true.

Of course you can use an internal frame. But this makes it neccessary to create a desktop pane on the main window. And making an internal frame modal is afaik not as easy as setting a simple property.
 
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
