Hello All, I am a newbee to SCJD. I just did finish my SCJP5.0. I have registered for SCJD certification. I have no idea where to start. Could any one guide me please? I have downloaded my project and it has to be socket programming or Rmi. Thank you, Matmann

hi Mattman,
I think it's best to start with implementing (and testing) the required interface.
Remoting (RMI or sockets) was the last that I did.
I can recommend reading "SCJD Exam with J2SE 5" by Andrew Monkhouse.
good luck, Herman

There are good books on RMI and sockets.I think you must first get a clear understanding of each as this would help you to choose one over the other.
If you do not wish to learn both, then just learn one of them and implement it.But still you must have a basic understanding of why your approach is better so that you would be able to explain in the essay exam that follows.
For SCJD, Andrews book is the best.

I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to
run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
