Since the instruction doesn't mention any log function,
Do I have to implement log function?

I agree with the previous post, this is a nice feature to add into
your project. It will show the examinator you have working good practice,
and moreover, it will ease the test phase of your project.
Using java.util.logging.Logger is allowed as it is part of the J2SE packages.

But another question is where I should put this log text file?
