Hi SCJD Candidates, my name is Jeffry. I'm currently waiting for downloading my project assignment. While I'm waiting it will be nice if we can share our motivation by taking SCJD. I'm just wondering

Please share why you are taking SCJD exam. My motivation is because:

-I want to proof to myself that I'm the best.

-I want to make Java SE become my primary skill and Java EE and ME become my secondary skill.

-I already learnt too much advance feature in Java SE so it will be worthless if I don't take this certification.

-This exam is very chalenging not like the other exam except for SCEA.

How about you friends?

Thanks

In addition to what others said, the fun of making it became a motivation as well. I am learning lots with it.

Hi all,

For me, all above motivations (especially fun ) plus a very little bonus (but meant a lot for me) when pass SCJD.

Well,I have never ever developed software using Java SE technology stack,I have been working only on Java EE for the last 2 yrs and 2 months. So,I am really keen to learn stuffs like RMI,Swing,Threads etc so that I can complete a full circle and obviously build my repuatation as one who can build software using Java SE.Last, but not the least, I want to learn new things. That's the motivation for me.

Hi there,

Similiar motivation for myself also... When I write code I usually think that it could have been designed better... both my employer and I should benefit from this process!

I gave the SCJD exam because of the following two reasons

1.Wanted to learn topics like RMI and locking.
2.Its a very good certification(I feel so) as it tests your capabilities as a java developer with the help of a project.

The different thing about SCJD exam is the exam is not a theory based exam, it is an exam which involving creating a working solution from a scratch.

Hi,

I have been in IT for the last 7 years and 3 months(5+ on Java/J2EE).

I have cleared my SCJP last month with 88% marks, that proved that I am good as a programmer, now would like to prove the same for the Developer. It would certainly add value to my CV, and I don't need to justify to anyone that I am a good Developer :-)
