I just finished taking the SCJP exam this morning. Overall, I thought the questions were worded clearly and I didn't think the questions were too difficult. You'll have plenty of time to complete the exam; I finished in about an hour and a half, then reviewed my marked questions, then proceeded to review all the questions again. At about the 20th question, the screen blanks. My foot knocked a cord out of the socket. My heart stopped; I plugged the cord back in then the computer reset. I stormed out of the room to get some help. The staff person said not to worry. The staff person tried to log me back in, but could not. She contacted SUN who reset the exam allowing me to log in, but my answers were not saved! After about an hour back and forth with SUN, my options are to wait 72 hours to see if they can recover the exam if they can't I have to take the exam again! I really can't believe this is happening. What really pisses me off is that I felt pretty good about the exam. I thought I had passed it. But who will ever know? Now I wait. It looks like Ill have to take it again -- that sucks. I dont mind taking a test again if I legitimately failed it, but with something like this. On a lighter note, I didnt get any questions regarding what would stop a thread from running - I would have most definitely picked if the power goes out.

Well, I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe they should have the PCs connected to UPS (uninterruptable power supplies) Is the glass half-empty or half-full? You got to see a sampling of the REAL test and now you get to go again with no record of having taking it more than once... Rejoice! And finally, the 59 questions that you got are from a large pool so the fact that you didn't get a question like that on Thread doesn't mean others wouldn't either...
