just looked up the objectives page for Java 2 at http://suned.sun.com/usa/cert_test.html?content=scpj2_obj and once again there is no IO in the objectives. PLEASE CLARIFY whether it is on the test or not. Recently, the objectives page had a topic of java.io added to it. Now its not there. Can someone please give me the latest objectives page address??
Nalini, Sun has recently (nearly a month back I think) updated the SCJP2 Exam objectives. It is here. It is good you posted this as new topic here. Sun's recent updated SCJP2 Exam Objectives which includes IO I am unhappy about Sun. If they introduce a new set of objectives they MUST take care to delete/replace the old one right? Why do they keep 2 URLs? Exam objectives is very important and should be considered as a serious matter.

Thanx a lot guys!!! I am scheduled to give the exam on may 9th and was wondering if am wasting time on IO since I didnt find it on the objectives at suned. Yeah I agree, Sun should be a bit careful and responsible; it is enough to rattle students.(Rattled me up since in the course of my studying I first found the no IO page - think it wasnt updated then; then the page with IO on the objectives so i had to postpone the exam, then again no IO on the obj) Plus what about people who dont know about the the new page?? they will be going into the exam without preparing for one whole topic?? I found the old page from java.sun.com/ training & cert link/java 2 exam and on that the obectives link . Thanx a lot once again. Q. The following requirements for track I of the Certification Initiative are not, or haven't been a part of the objectives for Sun Certified Programmer exam for the Java 2 Platform: a. Use the Java Foundation Classes (JFC) software to build visual applications. b. Write applications which are independent of language or location, using the internationalization APIs. c. Use the jar command to package together the components of a Java technology-based application. Will I be tested on these objectives? No, you will not be tested on these objectives. In our many discussions with the other participating companies, these three objectives made their way on the list. Clearly, since the exam is the Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform exam, and the objective list for the Sun Certified Programmer does not have these objectives, you can be assured that you will not be tested on these objectives. Sun has raised this issue with the other participating companies, and we are working to have these items removed. But they are not part of the existing exam, and Sun Educational Services has no plans to include them as part of the Sun Certified Programmer exam. This from the link in RAYBOND777's post FOUND IT exam objectives
