I went there too. Sun said, they would not add these new objective. And additionally, they are suggesting other tests erase these objectives too. Am I understanding correctly? Indy

Q. The following requirements for track I of the Certification Initiative are not, or haven't been a part of the objectives for Sun Certified Programmer exam for the Java 2 Platform: a. Use the Java Foundation Classes (JFC) software to build visual applications. b. Write applications which are independent of language or location, using the internationalization APIs. c. Use the jar command to package together the components of a Java technology-based application. Will I be tested on these objectives? No, you will not be tested on these objectives. In our many discussions with the other participating companies, these three objectives made their way on the list. Clearly, since the exam is the Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform exam, and the objective list for the Sun Certified Programmer does not have these objectives, you can be assured that you will not be tested on these objectives. Sun has raised this issue with the other participating companies, and we are working to have these items removed. But they are not part of the existing exam, and Sun Educational Services has no plans to include them as part of the Sun Certified Programmer exam. This answers the qs pretty well, Deep. Nalini, Thanks a lot for a detailed explanation & clarification. It helps the java community and future aspiring java certifcation candidates like me. Thanks and i appreciate that.
I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to
run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
