Hi All, Today I cleard the SCJP with 80%. Though I was not satisfied with the score I am happy that now I can move to other things in Java. I did not have any background in OOPS (that expalins why I scored the lowest in the category Overloading etc.).Preparation time was 2 months (after a full time job). Used RHE and Thinking in Java as a reference. My forte is AS/400. I can say for sure that a few questions had multiple answers which were correct but were allowed to choose only one. GridBagLayout ------------ 1 question I/O----------------------- 3 q's Threads ------------------ 3-4 q's GC------------------------ 2 q's Layout-------------------- 4 (incl GridbagLayout) util package-------------- 2 q's
Marcus Green's Tutorial and his mock examinations are very good. His mock examinations are the best. My thanks to all the folks at Javaranch, especially to Maha Anna, Jim, Paul and Ajith for their help. Thanks Guys Ajay Kumar [This message has been edited by Ajay Kumar (edited May 22, 2000).]

Ajith, Ak, Satya5, Suma, Herbert and Suresh Thank You all. Ak, The actual test is quite similar to the Marcus Green 3rd test, but I can assure U that the questions have become a lot tougher ( this I got from my friends who had given the test a couple of weeks earlier and thay were surprised when we discussed the Q's yesterday.) So prepare accordingly and Good Luck to the future aspirants of SCJP2.

Dear Ajay, I suppose u are wrong here when u say that the ques. of exam have been changed to be more difficult than what u say to have discussed with ur friends. The exam is not changed like this and there is only an annual revision, that will take place in Oct. May be ur friends have discussed few ques. which wouldnt have appeared in ur exam. Ajith, Maha Anna, Paul can also put in there comments. These type of mail can create panick among those appearing soon. So moderators please dont let such confusion propogate. A "lot tougher" doesnot mean newer objectives. It probably means a newer set of questions. Perhaps Sun created a newer pool of questions instead of using the old pool..I am just speculating. The bottom line is, there is no need to panic. You should be prepared to face tougher questions! Ajith
