Hi, I need to get a study guide for SJCP Exam. Can someone tell me which one's better, Khalid's or RHE? Thanks!

Ricky,
I would go for RHE.

I didn't use Khalid, so I can't say anything about it. But, you don't have to doubt about RHE. It's got all the aspects of the exam except Gridbaglayout.

..and even GridBagLayout is there in RHE, but at the end of the Developer section.

I didn't use Khalid either. I used a combination of RHE & Exam Cram.
If you are new to Java, I'd suggest using Khalid as it's supposedly very exhaustive. Otherwise go for RHE, which solely concentrates on the exam objectives (it's quite good too).

Thanks! I had this impression that Khalid was a better study guide, and I am really surprised to see the one-sidedness for RHE. I think I'll get RHE instead.
Thank you all so much!

My impression is that RHE is better specifically for the exam (if only because R & H we involved in creating the exam), but MR is better for learning Java well. Consider MR after you've gone through RHE - it goes into more detail.

Seeing the overwhelming support for RHE, I decided to voice my opinion of MR. I am using MR and I like it. I have not read RHE.
MR say in the preface: The book helps the reader to master all features of the Jave language and this mastering of the language can culminate in accomplishing the exam.
I think this is true.

I also vote for MR, considering the errata list published for RHE, its really horrible to go thru all the errors that scooped up in the book.
But MR is really a great book, and Khalid's test is also good. So if anyone is more interested in learning the language then MR is a better choice in my opinion.
