Hi all, I took the exam today, and (surprisingly !!) passed with 97%. It was all over in just 40 minutes. I was sure I had done quite well, and my aim was >90%, so I didn't even bother to review my questions, altho I don't think that was a good decision. Anyway, my main conclusion is just like anybody else, RHE, Brogden are the best. I studied RHE (2 times), and Brogden (1 time). I also breezed thru Khalid (for 1 day). I prepared a notebood, and made a point of everything. These points helped me a lot, 'coz u normally are not able to remember everything. I'll be putting these notes on my web-site, so that everyone else can also benefit from it. Also, I also give a very high-credit to Javaranch. You guys are doing excellent work !!. Also, I think the people should try the code themselves before putting the questions in here at Javaranch, 'coz sometimes somebody might give a wrong answer (not knowingly), and u wud be left with wrong info. The paper was quite easy. I think the level of the paper is the same as RHE/Brogden/MarcusGreen. I also bought the simulation paper from JSecure, and it really helped in bringing some confidence, and they also had some really good questions, and interface. Thanks to everybody once again. I'll keep visiting this forum. I love it just too much to leave it just like that !! Thanks, Aman

Congrats! thats a great score. I am appearing for my SCJP on 11th of August. I am not comfortable with I/O. There are on an average 4 ques. on this. Can u guide me on this? It would be very timely help if u can tell me about the variations in ques. Though I have read the topic but comfort level is not there. If u can share tips/notes/experience on this topic it would be very helpful. ------------------ Praveen Kumar Mumbai ,India email: bades@vsnl.com

Hi all, Thanx for all those congrats.... Well, I'm halfway through completing that list of points. I had noted down those points only on a notebook of my own..hence, the delay...i'm sure i'll be done in around 2 days (i have been pretty busy for the last few days). Surely will try to mail each of you personally, and i'll also put up the site address where i put up those notes. If somebody really wants the incomplete list (6 pages of a large-size notebook), he/she can mail me at: amanwarch@rocketmail.com Thanx, Aman

I have advice for those requesting notes. Go ahead and review them, but make your own. And write them down. Your are doing two things at once when you do that, reading them and writing them, (obviously), but it helps commit that to memory much easier when you are doing both. Just reading someone else's notes is just like reading a book. Take that one step further and outline a book. Take notes from that as well. I don't mean to downplay a score of 97% cuz that rocks!!! But, don't focus so much on the score you want to get, just focus on the material. I just wanted to get more than 75% when I passed and I got 81%. Do yourself a favor, read his notes, but make your own, by hand, in writing. Just my 2 cents worth...
