This week's book giveaway is in the OCMJEA forum. We're giving away four copies of OCM Java EE 6 Enterprise Architect Exam Guide and have Paul Allen & Joseph Bambara on-line! See this thread for details.
Hi Raman, I'm also preparing for the SCJP (actually, I failed my first trial). This is a quick reply. I'll get back in a couple of hours with more details. But to start with, have a look at http://www.javaranch.com/certification.html The Certification page! As for books I highly recommend you the Java Language Specification (2nd edition) and Thinking in Java, of Bruce Eckel. There are downloadable versions (but I don't have the links on hand... later). As for the preparation, Paul Wheaton gently gave me more precision: you should intensely prepare for 8 weeks of 20 hours a week. As for coding, he added: writing tiny programs to test concepts. There are lots of mock exams sites / downloadables... I'll get some for you later. Best of lucks! Serge
