Hi Javaranchers,
I am one of those silent fans of Javaranch. I passed my SCJP2 today and was shocked to see my score that I had to rubs my eyes and pinch myself to check if I was awake. I scored a perfect 100.
I have to thank Maha anna as I did follow her preparation tips and gave a lot of mock exams. I used to score around 93% in most of the mock exams. My exam I felt was simpler than most of the mocks. Also I did not get the dreaded Socket or MediaTracker qstns. However I did get plenty of questions on Polymorphism, Threading and Java concepts.
I took about 1.5 months to prepare for this exam. The first one month I spend reading Thinking in Java 2, the last 15 days, I breezed thru Khalid Mughals certificatin book, took plenty of mocks and spend a lot of time going thru the Java Ranch Threads.
Thank you Java ranch. You really are a fab site.
For all the Java gurus any idea on the way forward now. I am not a newbie into computing but yes defy a newbie into Java. I have about 7 years of IT expr in a variety of topics like C, Oracle etc.
All the very best to those aspiring for SCJP2. Just one advice relax and think clearly. Take your time. 120 mins is a lot of time for 59 questions. I managed to finish the test and revise the answers twice in about 61 minutes.
Guess I will just chill out today and let the feeling sink in.

hi,
Well I'd love to believe that u did score 100%.
Why don't u give us the link to the page which confirms this ?
It difficult to believe an 'anonymous' person passing with 100%.
Lets add one more person to the list of 100% AFTER we see the link to the page www.galton.com/~sun/ ???

I apologize as the Anonymous stuff is causing such a big uproar. However I just wanted to share this good news with all the people on Javaranch who helped me acheive this score without disclosing my identity for certain personal reasons.
With due respect to you Deepak, I am very happy and content with my score and asking me to prove it sounds a little of mistrust on a forum that I have grown to respect. Tomorrow you will have an email from me with proof of my results.
On the other hand Thanks to all the people who believed in my results.
Many Thanks

Personal reasons ? I don't seem to understand your personal reason. Please enlighten. There is a recent thread from Ajith about the same. I'm sure he wouldn't agree with u.
Yes, Its difficult for me to believe you till u prove it ! Just give us the link to the sun's page which confirms this.

Hi Anonymous,
Why are you trying to fool people!!. I don't think any genuine person will try to hide his personality but not his (supposed to be) accomplishments.
If you are really genuine why don't you come to light so as to inspire the SCJP aspirants!!

I have send an email to both of you today with proof of my results. Could you both kindly confirm to the doubting folks here that I have truly scored 100 and am not bluffing. However kindly keep my name confidential due to reasons mentioned in the email

Folks,
I hereby confirm that this person has indeed scored 100% in the SCJP exam. I personally have looked at the certification data upon request from this candidate. Apparently this person has requested anonymity due to personal reasons and I think we all should respect that. Let there be no feeling of mistrust, and I hope you'll all belive me
So let's congratulate 'Anonymous' again for achieving what is considered almost impossible. It is really a commendable accomplishment, and I am proud JavaRanch community has one such person! I also think the other SCJP aspirants should draw a lot of inspiration from this - scoring 100% is possible!!
Congratulations again, and the very best of luck for your future.
Your friendly bartender
Ajith

Hi everyone,
I also verfied personally the perfect 100% from Sun's database . Yes. It is true . So let us truly congratualte this achiever.
This person has given some personal reasons for not revealing the indentity. I also respect that. So I request all of us, to give our Hearty Congratulations .
Of course she/he can change his/her name to another name and can post it. But I think if at all he/she wants to reveal the identity she/he may want to post with the REAL NAMES. This may be a reason why she/he posts now with the name as Anonymous.
So bottomline , this achiever indeed got a PERFECT 100% in SCJP exam.
Our true congratulations to you!
with best wishes,
maha anna

Normally I skip everything in this forum and most of the others cuz I'm too busy with other stuff in maintaining the ranch. Once in a while moderators will direct me to a special thread that they want me to see. And I just got such a directive to see this thread today.
Wow! 100%! I am so envious. My score seems so pitiful now.
Sherriff Maha, send me this guy's e-mail address. I'll e-mail you, get your snail mail address and send you box of JavaRanch loot.
Please accept the official congratulations from JavaRanch. Well done!

CONGRADULATIONS!! Maha confirmed your score, I (along with all the other moderators here) are very impressed!
You need to be wearing these around for the next month or so:

Bask in your achievement - you've earned it!!

Hi,
First of all I would like to congratulate you for great achievement.
For me it does not matter what is your real identity? If I dont believe u or your achievement, it is my problem. I have to solve it or prove it wrong. If I were u I would have not given any clarification. So I would say that u has done something that is a life time achievement. Be proud your self. I am sure there are only few people who have scored 100% and you are one of them.
Wish u all the best.

Gongratulations, Anonymous!
And a questuion to moderators:
now we all are recomended (for not to say more) to use our REAL names. When one of us gave possible reasons for not to do it, s/he was referred as "horribly paranoid".
So I wonder, what are VALID reasons for not to reveal someone identity? Could moderators give us a hint?
I cannot make up any good reason for hiddin your name, if you got such wonderful scores. I think that's why many people did not trust Anonymous after his/her first message.
I even agree to be called "horribly curious" - it is true. Who else can survive this exam preparation...
And Gongratulations, Gongratulations, Gongratulations again!

Please direct your questions about JavaRanch stuff to the JavaRanch forum. I'd kinda like to keep all of this sort of discussion in one place.

Thank You Ajith and Maha for confirming my results and not revealing my identity. Thanks also to the many people who have congratulated me, it really felt very nice.
For those appearing the exams, there is just one advice practice, practice and more practice. I tried all the mock exams posted at Maha's sites. Visited this site regularly trying to answer people's queries, trying out the programs and clearing my concepts. Remember Sun is trying to test you on concepts. So if you have your concepts clear and are relaxed during the exam, I am sure many more people will be able to score 100. I also had luck on my side as I did not have the dreaded Socket or MediaTracker question. Also do revise your answers, I found atleast 2 mistakes during my revision
Most important I felt on the top of the world when Paul Wheaton has send me his congrats. By the way what is this JavaRanch Loot.
Most important Ajith and Maha what is the way forward. I have abt 7 years IT expr with about 1 year of OOPS expr not Java. Should I try and attempt SCJD or apply for a progammer job( which means starting all over again) and then appear for SCJD. Any opinion will be greatly appreciated.
I also intend visiting this site often to help my fellow javaranchers. I have already mentioned that I gave this exam in a short time so did not have time to prepare for notes. However there are a lot of notes available on the net.
Once again Thanks to all who share in my Joy and Happiness

The java enterprise architech in my opinion is the way to go
because it is seems to be the hardest of all the programming
certifications out there.
It has 3 parts:
1 multichoice , many questions have as many as 7 possible answers
a
b
c
d
e
f
g
Also the multichoice test has tons of stuff on firewalls
for instance.
2 programming project in ejb's
3. essay on your project.

"Anonymous",
"JavaRanch Loot" is stuff like totebags, mugs, pens and stuff that has "JavaRanch" plastered all over it.
When you come back, you will use a more appropriate name, yes?
"Shiny", "Diesel", "cyberoptic", "greddy", today is a good day to create a new account with a more appropriate name. See http://www.javaranch.com/ubb/Forum10/HTML/000180.html for details.
