Dear All
I am very happy that i have passed the exam today. With 1 6year old, 1 one year old and as working mother i did enought to pass the test. I am very pleased. I was getting in all mocks around 71 and that was my score.
I had all the dreaded questions sockets media trcker and all very length codes whicch i have not seen on any mocks.
My thanks to Paul for JQL+ IT IS REALLY A VERY GOOD PRODUCT A MUST BUY FOR ANY BODY who intends to take the paper. Please don't waste your money on Jsecure. It really not worth more than 2dollars when compared to JQL.
My advice is to follow the RHE,STUDY REVISION NOTES AND DO LOTS OF SAMPLE QUESTIONS. bRAIN bUZZ DUMP IS VERY VERY GOOD.
PLEASE excuse my typing.
I am very thankful to java Ranch and going to register today so that I can follow SCJD FORUM.
I am really happy with my score for two weeks of preparation. But just wish I could post me too SCJP WITH 92% ON THIS SITE OR LIKE 100% LIKE ANONYMOUS.

Hi Preety I have always looked upto people who pass this exams against all odds. With a 6 month old and a 1 year old I wouldnt even have the time to spell Java let alone study for SCJP and pass. My heartiest Congrats to you. I am sure you are an inspiration to all those people who feel thier environment makes its impossible for them to study.
All the best and do not worry about the score. The end result is that both U and me have a certificate from Sun stating that we are SCJP

Preety,
Congrutulations! It is indeed an achievement considering you had two kids to look after.
I had bought JSecure just before my exams and I strongly disagree with you. When you decided its worth did you consider the effort the JSecure people had put into making their product very close to the real exam? Well, if your idea of a good product is one where you find questions similar to the actual exam then yes, You will not find actual exam questions in JSecure but thats the whole point. It gives you a product where you can practice and boost your confidence. What I liked most about JSecure is the clear wordings and unambiguous questions and answers.

Sandra,
You don't understand what's happening here.
Just look closely at these postings made by Preety Agarwal.
-------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.javaranch.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/004424.html
Date: 26 September Time: 8.26 PM.
Preety says: I'm taking the test on 29th September.
I'm referring to only JQPlus
I did'nt purchase JSecure.
-------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.javaranch.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/004454.html
Date: 27 September Time: 6.47 AM
Preety says: I failed on my first attempt with 53%.
I'm taking the test on 29th.
-------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.javaranch.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/004483.html
Date: 28 September Time: 5.20 AM
Preety says: I'm happy I passed today with 71%.
JQP is great. JSecure is bad.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Sandra, Do you understand, that these events don't match. The facts of the case are:
- Preety failed with 53% inspite of using JQP.
- She does'nt have JSecure till the 26th late evening.
- She passes the exam on 28th early morning and does'nt like JSecure, which she has claimed she does'nt have just 24 hours before.
- She has asked whether she should postpone her exams, and 24 hours later not only has she already managed to PREpone her exam, but she's already given it. I thought one had to give 4 days notice to give the certification exam to enable Sylvan center to download the assignment on a particular day.
Preety is evidently favouring JQPlus, for reasons not evident from her postings.

Maybe she's taking the exam in India, where it was 29th...? Regardless, both are reputed commercial mock exams, and I think many would agree to that. Maybe Preety just didn't have the time to appreciate JSecure, that she has many responsibilties other than preparing for the exam.

I never imagined this could take such an ugly turn! Richard's post definitely shows discrepencies in Preety's posts and this is bad for us as well as for people who come to this great discussion group.
I would request and urge Preety to clear this up, if she really wants to appreciate our product.
thanks,
Paul.

Dear ALL

pLEASE EXECUSE MY TYPING
i AM REALLY SURPRISED TO SEE WHAT A WAR IS GOING ON THIS SITE RELATED TO CERTIFICTION PRODUCT. lET ME CLEAR THE AIR.
i TOOK MY FIRST EXAM ON THE 10TH JULY 2000. i ONLY PREPED FOR A WEEK USING rheNO JQL PLUS NO MOCKS NO JAVARANCH. bECAUSE A COLLEGUE/FRIEND OF MINE WHO IS AN scjd told me scjp is relly simple exam you can do it.. I belived it and thats it and ifailed.
I left the prparation and study to attend to other personal things until early september.
I browsed Java Ranch again and asked for help. Please search my
post at this site.
I followed a post which had a reply from Paul signed get certified guaranteed JQL PLUS. i CLICKED THE LIN AND FOUND THE SITE TO jql+ the price US dollar 15.oo within my reach. I order it and down load it. Mean while I also got a load of mock exam site from this site. I downloaded and followed through.
I took this exam in Malysia. not in India.
Now ON THE 27TH I FOUND ANOTHER POSTING WHICH SUGGESTED jseCURE.
i HAD NO IDEA ABOUT IT TILL THEN. fEELING NOT VERY COMFORTABLE AS MY SCORE WAS ONLY 71% OR 80% I WANTED TO BE SURE. NO REPLY FROM MY QUESTION i PANIC AND DECIDE TO BUY jsecure for us dollar 25.00.
I WORK THROUGH THE PRODUCT WHOLE NIGHT. And find language very good and interface quite simmialr to the exam. Questions are not new.
Now clear my product evaluation.
JQL PLUS QUESTIONS DONOTMATCH EXAM QUESTIONS AT ALL. sO I AM PRAISING jql+ for that. MY reasons for appreciating the product
VERY GOOD FLEXIBIITY ON LEARNING DIFFERENT LEVELS.
VERY GOOD EXPLAINATION TO CONCEPT
VERY GOOD FLEXIBILTITY TO ORGANIZE PRACTISE TEST
ET ETC.
VERY TOUGH QUESTIONS MAKE YOU REVIEW OR PROMPT YOU THINK AND READ YOUR CONCEPTS AND GET THEM RIGHT.
CLEARS YOU ON EVERY ASPECT OF JAVA NOT TEST.
WHAT DID JSEQURE DO ...
jUST PRESENT THE INTERFACE AND 3 VERY CLOSE T6EST. if SOME ONE IS VEY GOOD IN FUNDAMENATLS AND HAVE GOOD EXPLAINATION ON WHY SOMETHING IS RIGHT he OR SHE DOESNOT NEED AN INTERFACE TO FEEL COMFORTABLE TO CLEAR AND Pass the exam. it is knowledge and understanding which takes yoy through.
I want to buy a product to understan=d the concepts and not feel comfortable with the exam interface. Being in IT area and every day working with the computer i don't need that.
Now I don't mean to say Jsequre people didnot do a good job. Yes they have implemented their concept. You are in selling buisnesss. You have to satisfy different cuutomers and accept the praise and ccrtisism all.
As a customer my expectations were not met by the product. and I think (not sure) i can voice my opinion.
conclusion. I have evaluated both the products very carefully still my conclusion is the same. JQL+ VERRY GOOD.
jsecure not at all good for me.
OTHER PEOPLE PLEASE BUY AND HAVE YOUR OPINION.
lAST i AM NOT PAID BY ANYBODY. i bought every thing by my money.
I have used this forum to guide people not to advertize for any company.
I have really learnt from jql plus.
I don't mean to start a product war on this site lets use it to help each other get through the exam. and lern from other peoples mistake.
I amm sorry Java ranch if i created some kind of problem by posting my real message.
Preety

Thanks for your reply Preety and congratulations on clearing the SCJP despite the odds.
Preety's reply says:
"WHAT DID JSECURE DO ...
JUST PRESENT THE INTERFACE AND 3 VERY CLOSE TEST. "
Yes, I AGREE that this is just the thing that JSecure does.
We saw that everyone would be inquisitive on how the 'real' test would be like, regards the Interface and the Questions, before they actually gave the exam. Our product is designed for exactly this purpose, to take the students thru' a SIMULATION of the real thing before appearing for the actual exam.
Though, JSecure offers an explanation to answers when you review your results at the end of the test, It is not designed as a tool to teach you java. It is designed to take you thru' a enviroment similar to the real exam, before you actually appear for the real exam. Hence we have questions which are very similar, even in difficulty level, to the real exam.
There are a dozen books in the market to teach you Java with reference to Certification. All these books cover everything that one needs to know to clear the exam. JSecure is not meant to be a substitute for books. We strongly recommend on our WebSite ( www.netcraftonline.com ) as well as in the documentation that accompanies JSecure, that you have to first study the certification book. Completely. And when you feel confident that you are ready for the exam, then you take the JSecure tests. They will either prove your confidence Right or Wrong.
This will prevent you from entering the exam hall with a false sense of confidence and as a result of this, failing. I would'nt like to think that I'm ready for the exam, and then go into the exam hall and discover that actually I'm not. That will cost me $150/-.
Anyone who has already failed the exam once, may not find JSecure all that helpful, because he has already gone through the real thing and does not need a simulation, and knows where he stands.
JSecure helps you prepare for the exam, not study for it. Studying a book is the first step in preparing for the exam. JSecure does not form a part of this step. It is the last step in preparing for the exam.
I will have these specific details put up on my web site, to help students decide, whether they will benefit from JSecure.

I Thank everybody for their feedback.
Richard Miranda. www.netcraftonline.com

After giving a careful thought again and reading your mail Richard I too agree with your explaination. Since maybe i have already taken the test earlier i might not found it very useful. However for those who take time to get used to new interface and have no clue what the exam would be like. JSequre is really good.

I want to thank everyone for discussing this. I didn't even know these things were available. $15 for JQ. I bought it right away. I plan to take it a couple of times to see where I stand.
