Wow, your FAQ is great! I think it is what I always missed on this site. How about appends? Famous "What may cause a thread to stop", MediaTracker, GC... FAQ is such a good idea, I also want to participate...

The plan is to update the FAQ regularly. We will add/remove questions from it. So be patient

Really GOOD!!! specially liked the part in which Ajith lists out all the traps in SCJP. Helps us to focus on those problems particularly. Could we have something relating to GC in it?

Just clarifying......
This is the Certification FAQ for the javaranch.com
Programmer Certification forum (not the FAQ for the
new SCJP from Sun or anything related to it).

Thanks guys! I worked hard on the FAQ page and more will be coming soon!!
I want to make some more FAQ pages for other forums before making any additions to this one ... but all of your ideas are being noted!
I've had some really lovely e-mails too saying how great it is, thank everyone ... you've all managed to pick me up on a rather horrible day (I have a terrible cold and have been suffering rather badly all day .. but feel a little better now )

The FAQ is really good. Especially I too liked the trips and traps.
As Ira mentioned can we have some thing related to GC?

The credit really goes to Angela. She put quite an amount of her time and effort in creating the FAQ and making it maintenable so that we can easily add/delete questions.

Angela & Ajith,
Excellent job with the FAQ. Thanks for thinking this through & implementing it.
This is going to be the single most important source to start preparing for SCJP.
My 2 cents: I think we should put the following questions on the top -
What are the SCJP objectives?
What is the best way to prepare for SCJP?
What books should I refer to when studying for SCJP?
Has the SJCP-2 syllabus changed? If so, what is the new syllabus?

Regards
Sandeep

unfortunatly I havn't been bale to get things going as quickly as I would have liked since I have been quite ill over the past few days! I'm still not on top form but getting there slowly!
Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know I havn't forgotton that I said there would be FAQs for other forums very soon ... just maybe not as soon as I had hoped!
