JavaRanchers,
I am very happy to give my 50th post here by announcing that I am
added to the ever growing list of sun certified java programmers.
I got 86%, no regrets what so ever. Enough of boasting.....
now to the future aspireres,
1. First I would like to break the rumor that the new exam is
tougher. NO NO NO..I cannot compare it with previous one since i have not attended it,but this one sticks to its Oectives. The codes are lengthier, but i guess definition of a
superclass and a subclass will take 4 lines and a method in both
will add another 8 lines atleast which is 12 lines..is this lengthy??..They are very straight forward. Do not fear about code
2. Sun seems to test only on more occurring situations, i did not
find even a single question asking about difficult situations
like static initializers, instance initalizers, 3 level innerclasses, My study of JLS helped me in only one question, but
seeing JLS is very good, afterall you are not going to showcase
your certificate, study in learning java point of view and not
exam point of view.
3. No need to gothrough API with so muc effort, by my experience
API's of IO,string, stringbuffer should be gonethrough well,
rest u can afford to take it lightly. Work more on overriding,
overloading,construtors.
4. I refferred to complete reference by patriclk naughtan,
barryboone certification guide, simon roberts guide(this is
more good), JLS, API.
5. Preperation time 60 days JCP preperation , 30 days learning java.
6. Rating of exam,
easy
average -- I would select this.
difficult
7. It is very very useful that the exam provides how many answers should be selected. It is a boon.
8. Threads are difficult but i was able to score 85% in that,
For that you should be able to visualise the sychronisation,
which i think needs experience. I advice to skip the thread
code questions to the last.
9. Last but not the least, my sincere advice is to empty your
bladder to the last drop , I assume that was not vulgar,
but the last 20 minutes I could not concentrate because of
this. NoBody advices me this before:c:B
10. I completed the questions in 65 minutes leaving 25 minutes for revision. There is no magical solution for success. Hardwork
is the answer. Iam writing this becuase nobody should be complacent after reading this. 60 days of hardwork is a long one.
11. Finally about this site , I have no real words but i will give the facts which speaks volumes about the site.
a. posting 50 messages in 15 days.
b. I violated my company's browsing policy of visiting sites
which is in no way relating to the project. this would lead
to a warning followed by termination, serious. But i risked
and went through almost all the posts and answered many of them which i know. Keep up the good work, It is simply superb , that is all I can say. I have no comments about the name problem though i foresee no reason in NOT giving his/her right name.
I may be not be a freequent visitor from now due the problem given above, but I am very much addicted to this and I will at times give my views.
Once again thanks you all java ranchers, THE PROFFESSIONALS.
I do not regret for posting a very long message if it lifts the
spirits of atleast one javarancher:B
Wish u all GOOD LUCK, for queries see the profile and posst messages.

Hi Kishen
Congrats and thanks for making us (the aspirers) feel easy by saying that exam is not so difficult and the facts about code.
Here I would like to share a very Interesting experience with other ranchers. I failed the exam in july(which I have already disclosed so many times) and scored 51% overall but my score in the topic of Threads was 75%.(May be It was more theory then or I don't know why)
Anyway..its good to feel that its a possible task. LOL .
Cheers
Nasir
