Failed SCJP2

Well, I attempted the test yesterday and went in the test center
with my head held high. By the time I left the testing center, I was wippering like a wounded puppy.
The cow dung at the ranch gets pretty deep sometimes. So that's way I'm telling you my story. Do not take this test lightly.
Most questions on the test have you look at code(between 5 and 25 lines) and determine the result.

Sorry to hear your testing experience was so stressful. It's good to see you have a sense of humor about it! And don't give up. Lots of people don't pass their first attempt. Were you doing well in the mock exams? If so, maybe yesterday just wasn't your day. If not, maybe a little more time to prepare would help. Anyway, good luck. Let us know what happens.

That's where I went wrong. I only took a few mock exam's. I plan to spend more time on the mock's and play with larger code examples.
Who knows...Maybe next time I'll post PASSED SCJP2 EXAM.

hello John !
don't worry attempt it again with practice of sample questions and don't worry about the code. make it up and keep strong belief that you will 200% get through in the next attempt.
I hope you for the best.
Good Luck

Hi John,
I am sorry for that. Hope for the Best next time.
Could you please tell, where exactly you faced problem in the exam?
What is the problem with the 25 line long code. If you put one main class and one subclass and two methods in each with some spices the length will be around 25 lines.
I am not talking about the level of difficulty.
Let me know your suggestion and reading about the exam in details. That will help us all.

This is the exact difference between the old SCJP exam and the new Exam that started since October 4th. The new Exam has been designed in such a way that, if you only study theory, you are not likely to pass. You have to have some experience in coding. Sun has designed the exam in a fashion that a person with around 3-6 months coding experience should be able to clear.
However this does not mean that, one who does not have any live experience will not be able to pass the exam at all. Have the habit of trying out all concepts that you study in the certification book by writing your own example programs, coding them and running them. And do not get into the bad habit of depending on the compiler to point out your mistakes. Try to read thru' your code before compiling and try eliminating all errors. You should be able to use your mind as a compiler. Once you practice this, You will be definitely successful in the exam.
