Hello all,
This morning I gave my exam and got through with 72%.I had a pleasent surprise because I had taken the old exam two months back and got 64% then and was disillusioned too. With lot of support and encouragement from my family members and ofcourse from the posts at the javaranch forum., I prepared again with great determination only to find the exam a little bit tougher than I expected ,having experienced the last exam.
I am so very grateful to everyone here at javaranch and my parents and my 18 month old daughter for their patience and cooperation with me.Thank you all.
I got 2-3 on IO(easy qns on file 100% there! )
5-6 on Threads
2-3 on Strings.
I dont remember the percentage on overloading, overriding and the language fundamentals,...etc.
1 on innerclasses
1 on Collections
1 on GC which I didnt pay proper attention....the result of which gave me 0%(I didnt recall that objects whose references are still active arent gced.A gross overlook on my part.Ironically,in my first attempt of the older exam I got 100% in the garbage collection area.)
I admit there were easy qns probably 40% of the exam as well as difficult ones requiring more concentration covering rest of the 60%.
The one advice that helped me a lot was to leave lengthy and doubtful qns and attempt them after finishing all the qns which I could answer. I think I finished before 1 hour and had a good 35 mins for revision and left out qns.
Most of all,dont panic.
Thats all I can say.In the end there was ofcourse the Borderline Survey.
Even though my score is not worth mentioning,I am happy with it.
Thanks all again.
My best wishes to all out there.
