I am presently going throuth the "Cattle Drive" exercises. In your (anyone presently certified or studying to become certified) opinion, is the "Cattle Drive" a good place to begin to get good fundamentals foundation for preparing for the programmer cert test.

Keith, In answer to your question, yes, Cattle Drive is an excellent resource to use to prepare for the test! I went through the cattle drive and it took me a little while, but I passed my certification on the first try. Some people try to pass the exam just by reading or taking mock tests. They do not actually write any code. IMHO, people who have experience writing code (like you get in the Cattle Drive) have a definite advantage. I should say that Cattle Drive, fabulous though it is, is not enough by itself. It cannot cover every topic from the exam. You will need to read and do some practice tests. But I think your time is definitely well spent doing the exercises and getting feedback. Remember, many of the exam questions involve reading code and answering about what the result will be. Think how much easier this will be for you if you've already written some. Anyway, just my two cents. Thanks for visiting this forum. Stephanie
