Hi everybody,
I heard that it's possible to do the SCJP2 exam as an IBM candidate.IBM provids the exam no:155 which is same as the sun's 310-025 & the certificate will be given by the Sun Microsystems(The same certificate will be certified by the IBM as a IBM Certified Professional). The reason that I'm so interesting about this is, for me (I'm Living in Sri Lanka) the exam fees is less than the normal Fee.( As a normal candidate I have to pay Rs.23,975 & as an IBM candidate it's arround 12,000).Is anybody arround here knows any details about this ? or has anybody done the SCJP2 through IBM so far ?

This is IBM's published list of certifications that it offers: http://www.ibm.com/education/certify/tests/index.phtml
There is no mention in there of test 155 or any mention of Java at all.
I have a very hard time believing that Sun would allow IBM to give out certificates with Sun's name on it. But stranger things have happened.

I think IBM refers people to Sun for the first exam. It looks like to me that IBM's test 310-025 is Sun's exam.
I would call the Sun Education Center, to be absolutely sure. (800) 422-8020, (303) 464-4097
This IBM site refers you to the Sun exam... http://www4.ibm.com/software/ad/certify/des310d.html
Also, JCert describes the "Vendor" Certified exams, but I think you have to take the Sun Exam as a base. See http://www.jcert.org/tracks.html to see what I mean.

I'm sure that the two exam are the same , because I've made a inquirey from sun , through
"Troia Parson"<Troia.Parson@central.sun.com>>
I've got a confirmation reply that IBM's 155 is same as the sun's 310-025 & certificate will be issued by the Sun Microsystems.

The details about this is listed at IBM's web site,
http://www-4.ibm.com/software/ad/certify/ws_important.html
The most interresting part of this is , by doing the SCJP2 through IBM we can get two birds from one stone. , that's we can be IBM certified professional & Sun Certified Java Programmer from one exam.
What I want to know is , is there anybody arround the world who has done this exam through IBM.
If it's can be done it's great releif for the aspirants of the SCJP2 in Sri Lanka as far as the cost of the exam concern.
