Exam Hints?

I am new to this site.I am planning to take up the in the middle of january.Can anyone suggest some ways to prepare for the exam.What r the steps to be followed.How much time is required to prepare so that i can pass with good marks.Your valuable suggestions and hints are needed.
Hope this site will help me to become a SCJP.

I found that it takes longer to prepare than I thought. I have been preparing for almost 2 months full time till I am just now confident(this after 7 months learning and doing). I read JLS twice and a book on java programming twice and taken about a dozen mock tests. I still could get a better score if I prepared longer, but I am paying for this study time and the test fee myself so I plan to take it next week. I think 2 months is a minimum to do well.
