BUT DIDNT GET THIS ONE RIGHT, WHY ?

Collection is not a class but an Interface, so at the root of the collection hierarchy is an INTERFACE called Collection.
I got this one wrong also the first time I took this mockm, but I will remember it now. That is the nice thing about taking mocks, get it wrong once and you are pretty likely to remember it for the future.

your knowledge is really very impressive, if you can recommend some useful mocks that would be nice, i am appearing for the test in a week. something besides marcus!...

sarim, Thanks for the comments, but I still have a good bit to learn also. I am still studying for the exam. I learned most stuff through these forums and looking at the posts and going through the API or JLS or compling and running the code myself to get the answer. But I will be taking the exam soon. I want to get better at IO and AWT first.
For the mocks, go to www.javaranch.com/mock.jsp for a good list of mocks. Take as many of them as you can.
