validate() method

Hi, What exactly does validate() do? I commented it out in various classes with no noticable change to the display.

Your question is missing the Class that you're talking about. Even though some of us may be able to guess it, it is better to be clear from the outset.

Hi Tom,
<code>validate()</code> forces the Container to layout it's components. If the Container is not in an invalid state ie no change since last layout, the method call is ignored.
