i found the foll books useful - i am appearing for JCP exam on the 5th Feb - lets see the result 1. JCR - Nuaghton & Schildt - excellent in explanations - theory 2. Java Certification Guide - robert and heller - excellent from the exam prep point of view - to the point 3. Mastering Java - Zukowski - more in depth 4. Sun tutorial - is the best - download from Go to this site for the free download of Java tutorial bu Sun Microsystems http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/information/FAQ.html#bios Go to the following site for topics on which the JCP 2 is based ( in short the syllabus for the exam) - from the horse's mouth http://suned.sun.com/USA/certification/progobj.html 5. White paper published by Sun on Java written by Gosling - clears a lot of basic queries of Java as a language 6. JavaRanch discussions
