Hi All,
A number of rancher's have raised questions concerning an article posted at CertCities regarding a possible change in the exam format. The following is a reply from Sun MicroSystems concerning possible exam format changes:

Changing the Programmer exam to adaptive testing is something we are considering
for the reasons given by Robert Pedigo. This is not something for candidates to
fear. Adaptive testing is an excellent way to measure a candidates knowledge
Adaptive testing is something that candidates need to get used to as more and
more certification programs are moving to this form of testing.
If we make the decision to move foward with this we will give notice on our
website 6 months in advance. We will also provide information regarding adaptive
testing to help our customers prepare for the change.

So no need to worry, there will be plenty of notice
