webstart with offline database

hi,
Am looking for a solution that lets the app users use a web application offline.
Was trying to evaluate webstart but somehow failed to find any mention of a webstart application using a local database ( say MS Access ).
Any ideas? Has anyone done this before? Are there any 'gotchas' ?
Cheers,
Ryan

Well, since theres been no answer for a long time, let me post my findings during this period:
HypersonicSQL is the best bet right now. Its got EVERYTHING that one could possibly need and then some more!
