Hello...
how can I set a vm paramter like -Dsomevariable for my swing client application that I download by javaws?

In your JNLP, you add the argument to the application-desc element

Did you try the property tag in the JNLP ?
<property name = "someName" value ="myValue">

the way you can access it is System.getProperty("someName") in the Java code .
