can any body tell me where can i get the chess game source code in java applets .

Have you tried searching http://sourceforge.net/index.php

I'm not entirely clear what you're talking about.

Which chess game? There are dozens of them. However many don't provide the source code. I suggest that you use Google to see if there is anything available that will satisfy your need. Most likely Source Forge will have something that you may be able to use.

JBuilder free version has come always with a nice free chess program. its just moving pieces I think though and has no logic engine beneath it.

I've recently built a chess game with working GUI.
But there is a problem with stalemate and a few other things
could be tweaked.
If your thinking about writing one, I maybe able to help you.
