So if your looking for a general book on game programming I'd recommend "Black Art of Java Game Programming". It's big (900 p.) and has lots of info, but - it's old.. in other words, if your looking for something more fancy or up-to date, it's not the perfect book as it's rather old (8-9 years).
Pretty new one, I got it at the start of the summer. Killer Game Programming in Java by o reilly books...author: Andrew Davison. Pic of a cat on the front.lol. Great souce code and samples.
